The Elections Section is a part of the Grays Harbor County Auditor's office. We are responsible for administering elections in the county for all federal, state, county, municipal, and special districts. Elections typically occur three times per year in February, September, and in November. Other elections are scheduled as needed.
In conjunction with running elections, the department is also responsible for voter registration. Each of the county's 39,000 voters must be registered, assigned a voting precinct based on their address, and saved into the voter registration system. As voters change addresses or district lines move, the voter registration files must be updated.
Grays Harbor changed to voting by mail in 2005. Voters will be mailed a ballot for each election they participate in.
