The Elections Department administers all federal, state and local elections in Asotin County, registers voters, maintains voter registration records, and provides voters information. Currently, there are approximately 11,824 registered voters in Asotin County. |

L&A Testing with Secretary of State's office 9am August 8, 2008. Testing will be in the Asotin County Auditor's Office.
The Primary is August 19, 2008

Asotin County is now a Vote By Mail County.
All voters will receive their ballots in the mail. The courthouse will remain open for ballot drop-off and use of disability voting equipment between 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on Election Day.

There will be a 3-day special filing period for Cemetery District No.1 starting at 7:30am Monday, August 25, 2008 and ending 5:00pm Wednesday, August 27, 2008.
All interested parties need to file with Asotin County Auditor’s Office during office hours 7:30am to 5:00pm on above dates. There is no filing fee.
These positions are contingent on the Cemetery District being approved at the General Election, November 4, 2008.

NOTICE OF STATE PRIMARY ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on TUESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2008, in the County of
Asotin, State of Washington for all precincts in the county, a Primary Election will be held to nominate candidates to be voted for at the State General Election to be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008; that the following named persons have filed their declarations of candidacy as candidates for nomination to the various offices sought and are listed in the order determined by lot following the close of the filing period. The names of the candidates, their addresses and their party designations are as follows. Asotin County is a vote by mail county so no poll sites will be open and the voter will get his/her ballot in the mail. It will cost $.41 to return the ballot or the voter may drop it off at the Auditor’s office between 7:30am and 5:30pm everyday until election day when we will be open from 6:00am to 8:00pm, August 19, 2008. The voter may also obtain a replacement ballot at our office during these times. The DAU for visually impaired voter is set up in our office from July 30, 2008 through August19, 2008 from 7:30am to 5:30pm each day except election day when it will be available from 7:00am to 8:00pm.
