Benton County Elections Department - Recycle

 Recycle Logo

With up to 5 elections in a year the amount of paper the Election Department might use is staggering. While maintaining security and privacy of voters information the Election Department recycles paper, bottles, cardboard, etc.

With the priority of accurate election results it has not been forgotten to take care of the enviroment. The Election Department has streamlined it's processes and made the extra effort to keep more documents electornically rather than create the extra paper document.

You will notice that more information is available on the Election web site. This allows visitors to view more information without having to complete a request form or pick up a paper copy at the Auditor's Office.

Auditor's Office - We Recycle

Once documents have met their retention period (Retention Schedules) the Election Department properly recycles all material.

Certain items are shredded before they are sent off to the recycle center. That helps protect voter privacy and security. All sensetive information is kept in a locked recycle bin until it is shredded.

The Election Department reuses the same cardboard boxes for the entire election. This makes it much easier to transport but also recycle.

Please remember to recycle. Find your local recycle center and encourage your community to start a recycle program.
