The Accounting Section is a part of the Grays Harbor County Auditor's office. We pay all the bills of every department in the county. We process payroll for over 700 people and prepare the annual financial report of the county.
Each month approximately 1,800 payment requests are received and paid. The two people responsible for the accounts payable function also prepare sales tax reports, backup other sections of the office, and have primary responsibility for answering incoming calls for the office.
In payroll, one person prepares 3 payrolls per month for over 700 people. We not only do our own county employees but also employees of several special districts. This section is responsible for preparing tax deposits, regulatory reports, and assisting departments with questions about personnel benefits.
