Marriage License Information |
 |
 |
Both bride and groom may apply for their marriage license at the Grays Harbor County Auditor's office during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The office is located in the Administration building next to the Courthouse at 100 W Broadway, Suite 2 in Montesano, Washington.
If one of the parties can't appear in person, the other party may take the uncompleted forms to the absent party to be filled out, and signed, in front of a notary public. When the application is returned, the party taking the forms completes their portion in our office. A license can then be issued.
No birth certificates, blood tests, or other documentation is necessary to apply for a marriage license.
Waiting PeriodThe license is not valid until three (3) days after the date issued. The license is then good for the next 60 days.
Age RequirementsApplicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Exceptions:
- Applicants 17 years of age may obtain a license with consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Applicants 16 years of age or younger require parent or guardian consent AND an order from the Juvenile Court.
Marriage License FeeThe fee for a marriage license is $64 cash or money order. Checks and credit cards aren't accepted for this purpose. | |
