The Washington State Patrol provides inspection services for vehicles and trailers. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Inspection Program has been established to detect and recover stolen motor vehicles and/or parts and return them to their rightful owners. It is not intended to be a vehicle safety check.

How much do inspections cost?

There is no fee collected at the time of inspection. Inspection fees are included in the vehicle registration fee and collected by the Department of Licensing, Agent, or Subagent at the time of registration.
