Pursuant to RCW 29A.24.171, the filing period for all non-partisan offices which have a vacancy or void in candidacy will be reopened from 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 through 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007. The following positions either have a vacancy or a void in candidacy as of 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2007.

Anyone interested in filing a Declaration of Candidacy during this time is encouraged to contact the Auditor’s office at 800-583-8050 or 773-4001or visit our website at www.klickitatcounty.org\auditor .

Individuals who missed the filing period for any position may file as a write-in candidate up until the day before the election. The Declaration of Candidacy form must be completed and filed with the Auditor’s office anytime through 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2007.

Only Hospital District No. 1 and Lyle School District 406 will be on the August 21st Primary Election ballot. All other positions will appear on the November 6th General Election ballot.

Individuals who have moved or have only a physical address on their voter registration should complete a new Voter Registration Form which may either be delivered to the Auditor’s office or mailed at least 30 days prior to an election. This would be July 21st for the Primary Election and October 6th for the General Election. Without a current mailing address, a voter will not receive their ballot.

New registrations will be accepted up to 15 days prior to an election providing the individual comes to the Auditor’s office in person. Voter registration forms are available in the Auditor’s office, in the post offices throughout the county or online at http://www.secstate.wa.gov/elections/ and click the red “Register to Vote”.
