Each year, the Elections Department administers up to five federal, state, and local elections for Mason County's 33,350 registered voters. These elections take place in February, April, May, August and November.

The Department also registers new voters; maintains existing voter registration records; processes petitions for formations, withdrawals, annexations, and recalls; manages candidate filing; and provides customer service to the public.
