VIN Inspections

A physical VIN inspection on out of state vehicles is only done on insurance destroyed or homemade vehicles.  It is also required  on vehicles branded out of state as salvage or rebuilt.  It is also required on vehicles that are Registration only, or where ownership is in doubt.

The fee is $65.00 and paid at the Vehicle License Office.

Routine Out-of-state titled vehicles still require a VIN inspection but are now processed internally through a Vehicle License Office.  A NCIC check for stolen vehicles will be run.

The fee is $15.00

The following documents are required for the VIN Inspection.

  • Title or Registration
  • Notarized Bill of Sale
  • Receipts - if it is for a homemade trailer or a rebuilt/modified vehicle

Inspections are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.
Call 509-422-3800 (Wenatchee) for an appointment.
