May 21st  State Certification Review Board Hearing

The Voting Systems Certification Review Board unanimously voted favorably on the following motion:
Motion for Certification of Premier Assure 1.2

I move that this Board recommend that the Secretary of State certify Premier Election Solutions Assure 1.2 Voting System in the state of Washington under the emergency certification rules per WAC 434-335-212, and with the following recommended conditions:

  • The Office of the Secretary of State and King County elections should agree upon an additional set of audits for the 2009 fall elections to verify the accuracy of the system in actual use.
  • If the system is not nationally certified by May 21, 2010, then this emergency certification shall expire and the county shall re-apply for any future certifications.
  • The certification is contingent on King County, the Secretary of State staff and Premier working with the independent reviewer - Anitian Enterprise Security to address all security findings in the Anitian Security Review and Risk Analysis report through system configuration changes, process improvements and manual procedures conducted by elections staff.
