Where to register:

Online at the Washington State Voter Registration Web Site
To register to vote using this online program, you must have either a valid Washington State driver's license, or state identification (ID) card.

or

Registration can be done either in person or by obtaining a mail-in registration form from any of the following locations:

  • Skagit County Auditor's Office
  • Cascade Mall Information Desk
  • Chambers of Commerce
  •  City/Town Halls
  •  Post Offices
  •  Public Libraries
  •  Public Schools
  •  Senior Service Centers
  •  State Agencies including Department of Motor Vehicles
  •  Vehicle Licensing Offices

In addition, a registration form can be requested by calling the Skagit County Elections Department at (360) 336-9305.

When to transfer

When moving from one address to another within Skagit County, the new address must be reported to the Elections Department at least 30 days prior to the next election.  Contact the Elections Department by phone at (360) 336-9305, by mail, or in person.  A new registration card showing your new precinct will be issued and mailed.  If moving from another county or state, a new registration form must be completed. You may also change your address online with My Vote. You must enter the information at the bottom of the screen to continue to your voter information and the ability to change your address online. Click here to change your address online. You MUST have a Washington Driver's License or state ID card to change your address online.

Name Change

In order to change a name in voting records, a new registration form must be completed with the new signature.   This can be done using the mail-in voter registration form which can be obtained at any of the locations shown above or by downloading the form at the bottom of the page and mailing it to your county office. 

Where to Vote

Skagit County is an all vote-by-mail county. All voters in Skagit County receive their ballots in the mail and return their voted ballots to the Elections Department by mail, or at drop-off locations announced in advance of each election. Upon registering to vote or transferring, each voter is sent a registration card listing their assigned precinct.
